So, today I'm back on the environment track. I blocked out this one in a bit of time, and I want to come back and refine it some more over the next few days. Some of the next posts might be updates.
I want to invest a little more in this one since I have a good idea of where I want it to go, but right now I'm having trouble getting there. So this is what I have today. My goal was to make an environment that had much more color, seeing as most of my previous environments were fairly monochromatic
There are a couple of things I want to work on for the next few days. I want to make it feel less flat; right now the layers of depth are very separated and I want to work to resolve this and make the atmosphereic depth feel much more gradual. I also want to fix the composition a bit, in that the values are bother me right now - there's too much in the middle and nothing is popping out due to poor contrast. In addition, I'm having trouble making it feel 'real'. I think a lot of this has to do with establishing different values to different surfaces to indicate form changes and cast shadows better. With this in mind, I'll move forward and see if I can fix this image up.
And hopefully, I'll have those changes tomorrow!
